Take a trip back to high school in the 80s as the Spartanburg Day School Upper School Drama Team presents its spring production, "The Breakfast Club."
Performances will be Thursday, March 30 at 6:30 p.m. and Friday, March 31, at 2 p.m. in the Mildred Harrison Dent Fine Arts Center Gallery.
Directed by theatre teacher Valerie Barnet and adapted by William Caretto, the cast includes Upper School students Lee Aiken, Noah Ballenger, Caroline Byce, William Caretto, Robey Leonardi, Abi Lonon and Sam Spencer, and Upper School teachers Jason Lonon, David Roark and Margaret Sullivan. Upper Schoolers Patricia Bayiha, Rachel Kearse and Joanna Burgess make up the crew, with Fine Arts Coordinator Nancy Corbin as faculty advisor.
The play is rated PG-13 – Parents Strongly Cautioned – as some material may be inappropriate for children under 13. Strong language and mature subject matter are toned down from the John Hughes movie, but moderately included in this adaptation to honor the original story.
