Summer 'Boot Camp' prepares students for the college process

It's never too early for students (and their families) to begin thinking about the college process. Lead College Counselor Ann Marie Wesneski has been working tirelessly this summer to prepare our Upper School students for the ins and outs of the college application process this fall. Students participated in a three-day "boot camp" twice this summer – once in June and again in August.

The first day of "boot camp"focused on refining students' resumes. The last two days were geared for rising seniors' Common Application, an application widely used by universities, and their personal statements.

Mary Owens, a rising senior, said, "Within the first 20 minutes, we know what we are doing for the day. By the end of the boot camp, I've pretty much gotten all of my work done. My Common Application is almost done, my resume is done, I just finished and turned in my essay. Although, she still has to review it. I feel very prepared."
