Community Partnerships

The purpose of our partnership is to open and offer the world to our children; in effect, to bring opportunity to Spartanburg Day School. The city and its resources can be our laboratory. The various partnerships create a shared experience, and deliver benefits to both parties. We hope to create opportunities for our students that will provide hands on experiences – from team building to problem solving, from communications to giving back.”Chris Dorrance - Headmaster

The Stäubli Group

The Stäubli Group is an international company dedicated to developing fast moving technology. They research and manufacture robotics, connectors and textiles in 20 countries. Since 1982, they have created ground breaking robots, all with a reputation for sturdiness and reliability, and all of which integrate a combination of high speed, high precision, dexterity and user-friendliness.

During the 2006-2007 school year, two robotics students from Spartanburg Day School (a girl and a boy) will have the opportunity to visit the Duncan plant of this international manufacturing company. The students will visit the site once a month for six months. A mentor from the company will guide the students as they learn about textile machinery, quick-connections, robotics, customer training for maintenance, the service and programming of robots, and business transactions.

Interested students will be required to submit an essay which outlines why they are interested in the program. The selection process begins in September. Learn More
