Mathematics
We are preparing our students for the 21st century by placing a strong focus on math, science and technology. In math, students master the basic facts and operations and use these skills as they solve complex problems. Students think conceptually as they read a problem, decide what information is relevant, choose the strategies they’ll use, and estimate and evaluate their solutions. Math problems are most meaningful when they are applied to everyday life situations. Students are constantly encouraged to think mathematically; they maybe asked to calculate the cost of lunch for the entire class or how much water it takes to fill the pond in our nature garden.
I like math and it is fun. It’s like a game that you have to figure out.

Our students are actively involved in problem solving challenges through programs such as Star Math and Math Quest.
