Science

Students are excited about science and exploring the world around them. Students are introduced to the scientific method and enjoy being scientists as they do experiments, make hypotheses, and draw conclusions. We focus on the process skills as students learn to be good observers, organizers, and communicators of information. Our students have many hands-on experiences as they study such units as: animal habitats, the solar system, birds, sound, and the human body. Children learn first hand from wonderful field trip experiences. The third graders visit Linville Caverns and Emerald Village when studying their unit on geology and fourth graders learn about ecology at the Wood Magic Forest Fair in Columbia.

I like going on all our field trips!
