7th Grade
The seventh grade marks another significant shift in the level of expectations placed on students in their academic pursuits. In general, students are expected to independently apply the organizational strategies that have been modeled for them in previous years, but additional structure and support is provided as needed. In their coursework, students experience an increase in the complexity and sophistication of the ideas they are asked to consider and the principles they are expected to apply in a variety of situations. Even in the context of these more rigorous demands, teachers continue to be focused on providing interactive and realistic experiences that help students understand these more abstract ideas.
