Clubs

Given the extensive and close relationship we seek to develop among advisors and advisees, advisories frequently fulfill many of the roles of clubs as they provide opportunities for students to lead their peers, participate in group projects, and share common interests. For this reason, there are a limited number of club opportunities provided for Middle School students on yearly basis. However, during any year, there may be a group of students who are drawn to forming a club because of a heart-felt passion around a particular issue or idea. These clubs operate with a faculty advisor and are formed with the permission of the Head of the Middle School.

During recent years, we have had the following clubs:

  • Robotics Club—a club organized around the design of robots and including a competition among teams of student designers.
  • FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes)—a club organized by but not limited to Christian students focused on fellowship, service, and deepening our care for others.
  • Need-to-Read Book Club—a club spearheaded by a student to encourage intellectual discussions of books and involving fund-raising projects to support efforts that encourage disadvantaged children to read.
