SDS alumna swims on to success
Posted November 30, 2010
During her time at SDS, Emma Duesterhaus ('10) led the Griffins to some of the most successful swimming seasons of recent times. Nobody was therefore surprised when she took the next step and decided to swim at the college level. This Fall Duesterhaus started as a freshman at McDaniel College.
On November 10, Duesterhaus had her first collegiate three-victory meet against Gettysburg on Nov. 10. After anchoring the 200 medley relay, she won the the 50 freestyle and the 100 backstroke.
Even though Duesterhaus has graduated, Griffin swimming still relies heavily on the Duesterhaus family. Keegan (junior), Megan (sophmore), Nora (8th grade) and Brigid (5th grade) all swim. Not to mention head coach Molly Duesterhaus (mom) and assistant coach Alan Duesterhaus (dad).
Keep an eye on Emma Duesterhaus at McDaniel college and be sure to come and support the Griffin Swim team this winter.
