Halloween fun

Posted October 31, 2011

Students from K-12 dressed up and the whole school paraded around the athletic track.

This year the parade was lead by characters from Roald Dahl’s classic book, Charley and the Chocolate Factory. Headmaster, Chris Dorrance, who is retiring this year, led the parade dressed as Willy Wonka.

This is Dorrance’s eleventh Halloween parade. In years gone by he has dressed as a motorcycle rider, “Dorrance of Arabia,” Elvis, a gorilla, and Dumbledore from the Harry Potter books (to name just a few).

To honor Dorrance, upper school and middle school faculty dressed like him, and had masks of his face. Among all the important legacies Dorrance will leave, said student body president John McBride, a sense of fun and wonder at Halloween will also always remind Griffins of Dorrance.
