On the front lawn of Spartanburg Day School Monday, hundreds of flags waved in the breeze. Military vehicles and their drivers – uniformed veterans – greeted curious students from preschool to high school for most of the morning, following a meaningful all-school Veterans Day assembly honoring the men and women of the armed forces.
Artist Catherine Querin brings her colorful, full-of-texture creations to the Mildred Harrison Dent Fine Arts Gallery in the latest exhibit, “Color Happy: 365 Days of Expression.”
Spartanburg Day School senior Ellie Toler is one of approximately 16,000 semifinalists in the 65th annual National Merit Scholarship Program, according to a release by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC).
The first exhibit of 2019-20 is making its mark on the Mildred Harrison Dent Fine Arts Gallery. "Mark Makers" is a selection of works by local artists Linda Capracotta and Claire Louka and is reflective of the drive an artist has to express an idea through the act of making marks.
