Spartanburg Day School’s Camp Griffin has been selected as one of only 12 programs featured in The Scout Guide National’s recent publication, “A Guide to Summer Camps Across the Scouted Network.”

The nationally distributed piece highlights standout summer camp experiences from across the country, curated by editors within The Scout Guide’s network of local communities. Camp Griffin was recognized for its engaging and student-centered approach, described in the feature as “the quintessential summer camp experience, where toddlers through teens explore, create, play, and grow.”

The article emphasizes the lasting impact of summer camp experiences, noting: “Beyond beach trips and days spent by the pool, summer camp is one of the most memorable parts of childhood. Editors across the Scouted Network have tapped their local communities to round up the camps that will keep kids learning, exploring, and making memories long after the school year ends.”

The Scout Guide, a 100 percent woman-founded national franchise, connects communities through curated print city guides and digital platforms that highlight local businesses and organizations. The summer camp feature was also shared across The Scout Guide’s national social media channels, reaching an audience of more than 98,000 Instagram followers, 25,000 Facebook followers, and a newsletter subscriber base of more than 117,000.

“We’re honored to be included in this feature,” said Camp Griffin Director Lenora Sansbury. “At Camp Griffin, we focus on creating experiences that feel meaningful for every child and give them the confidence to try something new. It’s rewarding to see that recognized on a national level, and it adds to the excitement as we look ahead to another great summer.”

Camp Griffin serves as the signature summer program of Spartanburg Day School, offering a dynamic and flexible experience designed around student interests rather than a one-size-fits-all model. The program welcomes campers from age 2 through rising ninth grade and is open to both Spartanburg Day School students and children from across the community.

The 2026 camp season will run from Tuesday, May 26, through Friday, July 31, featuring nine weeks of immersive, hands-on programming that encourages exploration, creativity, and connection.

Registration for this summer’s Camp Griffin is now open. With limited space available in many camp offerings, families are encouraged to register early. For more information or to register, visit HERE.
