Spartanburg Day School

Spartanburg Day School has named Kaitlin Holman as its new girls varsity volleyball program head, bringing an extensive background in collegiate athletics, strength and conditioning, and student-athlete development to Griffin Athletics.

Holman has spent her career helping athletes reach their highest potential, working with volleyball players and other collegiate student-athletes at the NCAA Division I and Division II levels. Most recently, she has served as head strength and conditioning coach at D1 Training Spartanburg, following leadership roles at Limestone University, the University of Detroit Mercy, Legacy Sports Center, the University of Michigan, Bryant University, and Arkansas Tech University.

Throughout her career, Holman has trained championship-caliber athletes while developing programs that emphasize performance, leadership, and long-term success.

Holman also brings an impressive volleyball background. She competed at Baldwin Wallace University, earned multiple varsity letters, and was a member of the USA Under-18 National Volleyball Team that competed at the World Games in Austria.

She has also coached and developed volleyball athletes through collegiate strength and conditioning and club volleyball programs, helping players maximize their athletic performance while preparing for success at the next level.

Just as importantly, she understands that success isn't measured only by wins and losses. It's about helping young people grow as students, athletes, and leaders. Kaitlin is exactly the kind of person we want leading our volleyball program.”

Holman will take the reins as the varsity volleyball season gets underway in September, leading the Griffins while continuing to build the program for sustained success.

In addition to leading the volleyball program, Holman will serve as a Preschool physical education teacher at Spartanburg Day School. The dual role reflects the school's teacher-coach model, allowing coaches to mentor students both in the classroom and in competition while building meaningful relationships throughout the school day.
