Spartanburg Day School Announces New Leadership for Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball Programs

Spartanburg Day School (SDS) is proud to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Konradi as Program Head and Varsity Coach for the girls’ basketball program and Caleb Jordan as Program Head and Varsity Coach for the boys’ program. Additionally, the school welcomes Sharon Dillon as Coordinator of Player Development and Assistant Coach for the girls’ program.

Elizabeth Konradi brings to SDS an impressive playing and coaching background rooted in excellence and leadership. A standout forward at the Episcopal School of Dallas, Konradi set the school record for blocks in a season (135) and totaled 273 blocks and 352 rebounds in her career. She was a First Team All-Southwest Preparatory Conference selection and continued her playing career at the University of the South (Sewanee), where she was recognized on the SAA Academic Honor Roll and served in several campus leadership roles. Her dual commitment to academics and athletics aligns perfectly with SDS’s values. Elizabeth assumes her role as Program Head alongside her position as Admission Counselor and Marketing Manager.

Caleb Jordan, a graduate of Charlotte Latin School, joins Spartanburg Day School as the new Program Head and Varsity Boys’ Basketball Coach and Physical Education Teacher. He began his coaching career at his alma mater. He served as an assistant coach and played a key role in player development within one of the Southeast’s most respected independent school basketball programs.

As a player, Jordan was a four-year starter at Roanoke College, where he earned multiple All-ODAC honors while helping lead the Maroons to consistent success. He concluded his collegiate career with 881 points and 240 assists. He was named ODAC Player of the Week for his outstanding performance in the conference tournament, averaging 22.5 points per game while shooting 72%.

Jordan now brings his passion for the game, leadership qualities, and commitment to student-athlete development to the Spartanburg Day School community for the first time. His arrival marks an exciting new chapter for the Griffin boys’ basketball program.

Joining Konradi on the girls’ coaching staff is Sharon Dillon, a veteran coach with a legacy of excellence in South Carolina high school basketball. A 1986 graduate and former standout player at Spartanburg High School, Dillon returned to her alma mater in 2006 and led the girls’ basketball program for 17 seasons. Under her leadership, the Vikings achieved over 300 wins, captured three region championships (2008, 2011, 2015), and made multiple playoff appearances. She was named Region Coach of the Year in each of those championship seasons and selected as head coach for the North/South All-Star Game in 2010.

Before returning to Spartanburg, Dillon began her head coaching career at Broome High School in 1997, where she built a state title-winning program. In her final season at Broome, she led the Centurions to a South Carolina State Championship and was honored as the South Carolina Coach of the Year. Her coaching résumé also includes a 2004 appearance as a North/South All-Star assistant coach, further highlighting her recognition at the state level.

A graduate of Limestone University, Dillon was a standout player at the collegiate level and earned a degree in physical education. Her decades-long dedication to coaching, mentoring, and player development has left a lasting impact on countless athletes and programs across the Upstate. Her experience and deep local ties bring an invaluable presence to the SDS girls’ basketball program.

“Bringing in coaches of this caliber is a testament to Spartanburg Day School’s commitment to excellence in athletics,” said Mike Cerino, SDS Athletic Director. “Elizabeth Konradi and Caleb Jordan are outstanding leaders with proven track records. Their passion for student-athlete development—on and off the court—makes them ideal fits for our community. We’re also thrilled to add a coach with Sharon Dillon’s depth of experience and local legacy.”

These appointments reinforce Spartanburg Day School’s mission to develop well-rounded student-athletes through exceptional coaching and strong mentorship within the teacher-coach model.
