Spartanburg Day School Names Lenora Sansbury Director of Auxiliary Services

Spartanburg Day School has named Lenora Sansbury its inaugural Director of Auxiliary Services, a new leadership position focused on the continued development and growth of the school’s auxiliary programming.

Sansbury will assume the role effective Nov. 30, overseeing Extended Day, Camp Griffin, and facility rentals. As Director of Auxiliary Services, she will lead programs designed to support the school’s mission while strengthening opportunities for students, families and the broader community.

Sansbury took over leadership of Camp Griffin in 2025 and has helped develop and expand programming that serves children and families throughout the Spartanburg area. Her new role brings the school’s auxiliary programs under dedicated leadership as Spartanburg Day School looks to build on its continued growth.

Her work in auxiliary programming and experiential learning is also gaining recognition beyond the SDS campus.

Sansbury was recently selected for Toddle’s inaugural The 100: Independent School Innovators 2026, a national recognition honoring 100 educators who are advancing innovation in independent schools. Among this year’s honorees, Sansbury is the only educator whose listed role is specifically focused on auxiliary programming, bringing national attention to the growing impact of auxiliary education and the work taking place at Spartanburg Day School.

She will also present a breakout session at the upcoming SPARC (Summer Programming & Auxiliary Revenue Collaborative) Annual Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona. The conference brings together auxiliary, summer programming, and extended-day leaders from independent schools across the country to share ideas, best practices, and strategies for developing innovative and sustainable programs.

Sansbury’s entrepreneurial experience is also contributing directly to the school’s academic program. This year, she joined the Upper School faculty to teach Busines Entrepreneurship, drawing on her experience as a business owner and program builder to help students explore entrepreneurship, business development, problem-solving, and the practical process of turning ideas into viable ventures.

The new Director of Auxiliary Services position reflects Spartanburg Day School’s commitment to expanding opportunities that complement the student experience while creating meaningful connections between the school and the greater Spartanburg community.
