Pilot 'Discovery Classroom' for early preschool students launching this fall

Spartanburg Day School will launch a pilot program for early preschool students this fall. This new "Discovery Classroom" will be an extension of the SDS play-based preschool program, but for younger learners born on or before July 1, 2016.

The school day will be based on a unique blend of fun and learning in a supportive and nurturing environment with a low 6:1 student to teacher ratio. Teachers will encourage emerging independence and present opportunities for children to develop as individuals and as part of a social group. This program will focus on language, social and physical development, growing life skills and fostering a love for learning through play, inquiry and a literacy-rich environment. Students will also participate in enrichment programs during the school day such as art, music, immersion Spanish and physical education. The goal: for students to become "discoverers" who are confident, happy and excited to learn.

Half- or full-day options are available.
