Apply to Lower School (grades 3K-4)

Walk in to the Lower School and you immediately sense joy, love and learning.

It’s a happy place: teachers and students respect one another and are genuinely curious about the world around them.

For our earliest learners in 3K and 4K, the school day is from 8 a.m. until 12:15 p.m., while our full day program for grades Kindergarten - 4 is from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

The application process is all about getting to know your child. Here are the steps, all of which must be completed by the appropriate deadlines.

Student Assessment (3K, 4K)

Families applying for 3K and 4K will need to submit two confidential recommendations. (At least one will need to be completed by a current teacher or nursery director if applicable.) These forms may not be completed by a family member or relative.

Student Assessment (Kindergarten)

Kindergarten applicants will complete a Readiness Assessment. If the applicant is already five years old, they can experience a Kindergarten class for the day. If the child has not yet turned five, a visit to the classroom can be arranged as long as a parent is present. Families need to have submitted an online application for admission prior to scheduling. Please contact our Admissions Office at admissions@sdsgriffin.org or 864-582-7539.

Student Assessment (1st-4th)

Applicants for admission to grades 1-4 will complete admissions testing.

In addition, a classroom visit day will need to be scheduled in order for the applicant to experience a typical day at Spartanburg Day School. This visit day can be incorporated with admissions testing and lasts from 7:50 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Families need to have submitted an online application for admission prior to scheduling. Please contact our Admissions Office at admissions@sdsgriffin.org or 864-582-7539.

Additionally, please sign the record release form and forward to your child's current school.
