Spartanburg Day School's weekly newsletter Week of May 11 A NOTE FROM OUR HEAD OF SCHOOL: 'Thank You' Teachers and Food Service, Graduation Announcements
There is no other way to begin this note than with an enormous "THANK YOU" to all Day School faculty. During Teacher Appreciation Week and every other week, our faculty make the difference for our school. They are dedicated to our students and their families and to our mission. This year, perhaps more than ever before and in ways that were hard to imagine just a few months ago, they have continued to serve, support, teach and lead. Again, I say, "thank you!"
I want to also thank our Parents' Community for doting on our faculty this week. On Wednesday, each and every faculty member was treated to a delicious meal from the Farmer's Table, picked up curbside or delivered to their home by a team of parent (and a few student) volunteers. (See the WYFF feature) Not only did this take one chore off already lengthy to-do lists, but it provided a welcomed opportunity for us to once again come together as a community – from afar.
After an extensive search and interview process, I am pleased to announce that beginning in August, the Farmer's Table will serve as the new food service provider of Spartanburg Day School. Owners Joel and Lenora Sansbury are already ingrained as Griffins as parents to two preschoolers, and we look forward to welcoming them in this new capacity. Exciting details on all the Farmer's Table will contribute to SDS will be forthcoming this summer...
ANNOUNCING FOOD SERVICE FROM THE FARMER'S TABLE!
Spartanburg Day School will have a new food service vendor this fall as we welcome The Farmer's Table into the Dining Commons for school-day meals, and lots more!
The Farmer's Table is owned by Joel and Lenora Sansbury. Since starting their business in 2012, they've successfully operated their popular downtown restaurant, a college cafe and the Farmer's Table food truck. The Sansburys are already Griffins as parents to two preschoolers – Leanna in Discovery and Solomon in 4K. They are very much looking forward to being a part of the SDS community in this new capacity. Look for more exciting information to come soon!
As we prepare for this change in vendor, Flik Dining Services will be communicating with families about refunds for accounts with positive balances and closing out any past-due accounts. Families with questions or concerns regarding their account should email dining.flik@gmail.com.
THANK YOU!
We asked for "thank you" photos to send to faculty this week, and our students and families were quick and creative in their responses! We received well over 100 photos for a very special Teacher Appreciation Week video that was emailed out to each and every faculty member. Thank you to all who contributed!
A much shorter version was posted for the public to see on social media, but we thought you might like to see the entire four-minute version, full of smiles and appreciation, that teachers received in their inbox. Happy watching!
