FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL Happy Friday, Griffins! With just over a week of school behind us, I want to share a few quick update and reminders.
We are continuously reviewing our school protocols and making adjustments as needed, based on COVID-19 levels in our community and our school. All decisions are focused on three goals: safety and health, in-person learning and engagement and experience.
Division back-to-school nights will be held with modifications designed with your safety and health in mind and to provide timely information for your student's experience. Look for detailed information from your child's division head.
In the dining commons, we've adjusted seating arrangements and implemented additional steps to improve physical distancing. Students and faculty will continue to wear face coverings until they are seated and will take advantage of our beautiful outdoor seating areas on pretty days.
Quarantine protocols are designed to keep our school in-person and to return students to in-person learning as soon as it is safe to do so. Students cleared to return to campus after a negative test and a seven-day quarantine will be closely monitored through day 14. Initial testing information from students returning from quarantine indicates our protocols are working, so please continue to do your part. Complete an at-home wellness screening daily. Scroll down to review our screening process and the list of symptoms to watch for.
Numbers around us continue to climb. Now is the time to keep your circle small. Be mindful that play dates, birthday parties, and social gatherings have the potential to spread the virus at school and impact our students and faculty. Especially while the rate of transmission is high, we ask that you create a plan that keeps your family well and that helps us operate school in person.
We're in need of substitute teachers! If you or someone you know is qualified and interested, please reach out. Information is available on our website.
As always, thank you for your continued support and trust. Successfully achieving the three goals mentioned at the start of this letter would not be possible without the cooperation of our students, faculty and parents. THANK YOU. ![]() Rachel S. Deems Head of School
DOOR ACCESS FOBS - PLEASE RETURN!
We are currently upgrading our door access system. To complete this process, all faculty and student (Middle and Upper School) fobs will need to be reprogrammed and reissued. Students, please remember to bring your fob to school Monday; they will be collected during advisory and lunch. Thank you!
