GRIFFIN DAYS MOVING TO FRIDAYS
Extra, extra! You'll see this newsletter in your inbox on Fridays this year instead of Sundays. Our hope is that the extra days will give you extra time to read and prepare for the week ahead. The format and information provided here will be exactly the same, just with a little more notice going into your weekend. See you on Fridays!
REMINDER: BACK-TO-SCHOOL FORMS DUE SUNDAY
Don't forget to update and fill out all forms and documents needed to begin the 2019-20 school year. Update medical information, change an email or mailing address, let us know your child's T-shirt size, sign up for a dining plan or after school activity, etc. Forms are due this Sunday, Aug. 18. For reference, the email with all the details on back-to-school forms is linked here.
JOIN US FOR THE BACK-TO-SCHOOL PICNIC TUESDAY!
The entire Griffin community – students, parents and faculty – is invited to join us for the annual Back-to-School Picnic on Tuesday. It's one of our favorite school traditions and a time to meet new friends and reunite with familiar faces.
The picnic begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Dining Commons and on Dorrance Plaza.
JUNIOR CLASS T-SHIRTS FOR SALE
The junior class will once again be selling T-shirts this fall as a fundraiser for prom. T-shirts will go on sale at the Back-to-School Picnic for $18 each. Cash or check will be accepted at the picnic.

WE LOVE WHERE WE LEARN!
Finishing touches are going on a new "Love Where You Learn" mural on the back of Spartanburg Day School's campus. The mural is a take on the popular "Love Where You Live" mural in downtown Spartanburg, adapted to show many of the reasons why students and teachers at Spartanburg Day School love where we learn. Look for the brightly colored mural at the Back-to-School Picnic Tuesday, just off Dorrance Plaza on the back of the Milliken Gym locker rooms. Special thanks to Love Where You Live Campaign Director Stephen Long, Kris Inman and Jeremy Kemp for the long, hot hours spent making this mural come to life. QUICK LINKS
