JOIN US FOR FALL FESTIVAL, FRIDAY, OCT. 4
The Parents' Community once again invites the entire Griffin community to Fall Festival, Friday, Oct. 4, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Join us on the soccer field for bouncy slides, games, prizes, magic, face painting, a dunking booth, a rock wall and much, much more, all at no cost!
The junior class will be selling food plates as a fundraiser for prom. All plates will be served with a fruit cup, cookie and drink.
ONLINE SCHOOL STORE OPEN NOW UNTIL OCT. 6
Need some Griffin gear for the year ahead? The Parents' Community is once again offering an online school store through RSN Promotions. Order and pay online, and RSN will deliver your order to SDS for easy pick up. The order link to the store will be active through Oct. 6 and features warm and cool weather styles in a variety of colors and sizes, including preschool and adult tall sizes. Purchase for yourself or as a gift! Each order supports the Parents' Community.
I'M A GRIFFIN DAY THURSDAY
Our annual "I'm a Griffin Day" is scheduled for this Thursday, Oct. 3. This is a day all students and faculty, from the littlest Discovery class to our seniors, come together to celebrate why we all love where we learn. New T-shirts will be distributed Thursday morning (so arrive dressed for a quick change), and we'll take an all-school photograph on the front lawn.
FOURTH GRADE FAIR TRADE MARKET, FRIDAY, OCT. 4
Support fair trade with the fourth grade by attending the second annual Fair Trade Market on Friday, Oct. 4 from 8:30-11 a.m. in the Milliken Lobby. Vendors will be selling scarves, sportswear, headbands, purses, self portraits designed by fourth grader and more! The market is part of fourth grade's first IB unit and study of human rights.
SIBLING APPLICATIONS
We want to make sure we have a spot for our Griffin siblings! As always, siblings have priority in the admissions process; if you have another child you are planning to bring to SDS next year, please complete an application by clicking HERE! Application fees for siblings will be waived until December 15. Once you have filled out the application completely, please email the admissions office to have your application fee waived. Contact Bethany Cobb with any questions.
INTERACT CLUB COLLECTING DONATIONS FOR ANNUAL YARD SALE
The annual Interact Club yard sale is coming up in November, and the boys are asking for any and all donations from the SDS community. The club is now collecting household items, clothing, toys, furniture and more. This year Interact would like to thank John Montgomery and CubeSmart for a generous storage space donation that will be used in addition to the usual 18-wheeler that will be parked on campus soon. To schedule a donation, call Susan Owens or Laura Gramling. Proceeds from the sale support the club and its community service projects.
BOXTOPS DUE OCT. 25!
The BoxTops for Education program helps provide funds to support the mission of the Parents' Community. Please remember to save your BoxTops for Education labels and submit them throughout the school year. The first collection for the year will be Oct. 25.
Each division has a BoxTops for Education Collection Box where labels may be submitted. Collection Box Locations: Lower School - Lower School lobby near Balance Room
