Dear SDS Learning Community,

What an incredible debut for our first Upper School theatre production in the new Valerie M. Barnet Theater. Nearly 40 students from 6th through 12th grade are involved in bringing Xanadu Jr. to life—not only sharing this hilarious musical with our community, but also showcasing the elevated performance experience our new Black Box space now offers.

From light and sound to seating and stage set-up, the new space creates a wonderfully intimate atmosphere that transports students to new worlds. We are so grateful to our community for making this happen, and we are excited for an enhanced performing arts program to continue next year.
