Dear Spartanburg Day School Learning Community,
This past week at Spartanburg Day School, we’ve witnessed our mission—to provide a superior educational experience in a community of trust that prepares students for a life well lived—in action in countless ways. From the immersive experiences of Special Studies week for our Upper School students to the cultural explorations of our Middle School trips and the intergenerational connections made during Grandparents Day, our community has been engaged in living out our mission. Whether it was the helicopter landing on Pennell Field during health studies, trips to Santa Fe, Quebec, or the mountains of North Carolina, or exploring Gullah culture in Savannah or the music scene in Nashville, our students were actively learning and growing.
Special Studies week allowed students to pursue their passions in depth, fostering individuality and curiosity. The trips to Savannah and Nashville provided opportunities for students to develop leadership skills and broaden their understanding of the world. Grandparents Day highlighted the importance of intergenerational relationships, reinforcing our community of trust. These diverse experiences, woven together, are hallmarks of an SDS education, shaping well-rounded individuals ready to embrace the world.
Weeks like this can leave you the best kind of exhausted, so I hope you all have a restful and relaxing weekend.
Sincerely,
