Dear Spartanburg Day School Learning Community,
Over the past week, many of our students have been busy preparing for and completing exams, with additional exams scheduled for next week. It has been inspiring to watch our students remain focused and committed as they close out another successful year at Spartanburg Day School.
On Wednesday, Stone Gym was filled with smiles and excitement during the Reading Carnival, which recognized the incredible reading accomplishments of our Lower School and Middle School students throughout the year. A special thank you goes to our School Librarian, Mr. Will Strait, for helping create such a memorable experience with inflatables and snow cones. We are also grateful to the faculty, staff, and Upper School students who volunteered their time and energy to make the event such a success.
We are also incredibly proud of our varsity boys soccer team, which earned an exciting state playoff victory earlier this week to advance to Thursday’s SCISA state semifinal match. The school spirit surrounding the team’s postseason run has been tremendous.
This week also gave us the opportunity to celebrate one of our outstanding senior student-athletes, Deuce Williams, as he signed his national letter of intent to continue both his academic and basketball pursuits at Erskine College. Watching Deuce surrounded by family, teammates, friends, faculty, and staff was a wonderful reminder of the meaningful relationships and support systems that define our Griffin community.
As the school year begins to wind down, I hope we all take a moment to appreciate the many experiences, accomplishments, and memories that have shaped this year. From outstanding performances and fine arts showcases to athletics, celebrations, and everyday moments, this has been another remarkable year for Spartanburg Day School.
Thank you for your continued support and belief in our mission. We look forward to celebrating the Class of 2026 in the weeks ahead and finishing the school year strong together.
