Dear SDS Learning Community,
The Halloween Parade and celebration is less a gathering and more a glorious, costumed manifestation of the school's unique 2K-12 campus model.
Picture this: a tiny, impeccably-costumed kindergartner confidently marching past an amused senior, the whole scene buzzing with a single-campus energy that feels like a family reunion where everyone wore a wig. This year, despite a certain shabby Daddy Warbucks (yes, that was me), whose moth-eaten tuxedo and slightly askew bald cap proved that even the most haphazardly assembled costume would be received with a surprising amount of heart and a shared sense of joy.
The opportunity for a sixth-grader to high-five the Student Government President, or for an Upper School student to marvel at the sheer terror in a third-grader's elaborate zombie makeup, is exactly what makes our place special. It’s a completely unique, cross-divisional whirlwind, a single celebration where the biggest difference between the divisions is the students' height, and their shared Griffin spirit.
