News from the Upper School
Students began the course registration process during advisory on Tuesday for next school year. Students received course recommendations by their current teachers as well as a sheet with electives in which they can choose from. Students who want to take a higher level course than what was recommended for them can complete an Appeals form, and then discuss it with college counseling and administration. This step was added this year to create the dialogue between students and college counseling/administration.
While 9th-11th graders were going through course selection on Tuesday, seniors had their first of several Senior Series meetings. This week, seniors heard from Scott Cochran, President of Spartanburg Methodist College. Mr. Cochran shared important information about maintaining integrity and making ethical decisions, and what may happen when those are not upheld, as our seniors prepare for their next chapter outside of our halls.

Students who did Independent College Searches during Special Studies Week presented to juniors today on one of the colleges they visited. They shared fun facts, admission criteria, and reasons why they liked that school. We appreciate their willingness to share with others their experiences as juniors prepare for the college application process just in a few short months.

Next week is the premiere of Xanadu, Jr in the new Valerie Barnet Theater. Please come support our students and get a peek at the new theater either Wednesday, April 16 or Thursday, April 17 at 6:00 pm.
Have a great weekend!
