Happenings in the Upper School:

On Monday, the Upper School held Student Body elections. We had amazing candidates for Student Body President, Vice President and Secretary. Congratulations to Mary Franklin Gilman and Chloe Hujik who will be next year's Student Body President and Vice President, respectively, and Mary Ella Bullington who will be next year's Student Body Secretary.

Last week seniors Mya Ferguson and Camilla Costa participated in the Global Fair of the Upstate as a part of their AP Spanish class. They had an opportunity to meet students, taste new foods, and learn new dances.

Freshmen Liam Mezger and Conner McGrath are hard at work during their electricity unit in Honors Physics.

Freshman Jenesis Lee was recognized by the Veterans of Foreign Wars for her entry into their annual essay contest. Jenesis’s essay was a stand out amongst local entries and was honored by VFW Representative, Mary Azbell during assembly.

Senior Payne Wood signed with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute this week. He was surrounded by family and friends as Mike Cerino, Coach Nibert, and Mr. Skeen spoke about his integrity, character, and kindness.

Afternoon baseball games have become a favorite way to end the day. Teachers, parents, and students have been gathering on the hill to watch our team play in the afternoons here on campus.

Final assessments in the Upper School will look a little different this year. Students will not have a formal exam week. Instead, courses will administer assessments over the span of two weeks, in class. These smaller assessments will provide more opportunity for students to prepare and review. It will also allow for little more flexibility in their schedules to accommodate conflicts and give time for AP exam preparation. Students will still be in classes, learning material, and being assessed. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. We will provide more information as we move closer to the end of the year.

We hope that you enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend!

With gratitude,

Jillian & Amanda
