News from the Upper School
It’s officially Thanksgiving Break!
This week hosted our first home basketball games of the season; students were excited to support their friends and show off their team spirit with themed evenings. We would like to say a huge thank you to Mr. McCoy and the pep band for supporting our athletes - it wouldn’t be an SDS basketball game without you guys.
Watching the students gather on the court after a game. always fills our hearts with joy, what an amazing way to celebrate our teams and to come together.
One of our favorites, the annual Turkey Trot, was held on Thursday. Lifers Val Landa, Mirabelle Ferguson, Blair Loring, Lane Greer, Ava Corbin, Sadie Peeler, and Luke Bryant (we missed you, Carter Boyd!) joined the 4k for a waddle around campus. Thank you to Ms. Wesneski for coordinating and dressing our senior turkeys … beaks, feet, and all!
As we wrap up this week we want to express a special message of gratitude to our Upper School teachers and staff. The SDS community would not be what it is without your unending support, care, time, and love. There isn’t enough space to list out all of the ways that you shape our students into the wonderful young men and women that we know. We appreciate each and everything that you do. Thank you!
We will send out a list of dates, midterm reminders, and other information in our next weekly letter. We will see you all on December 2nd, we hope that you enjoy the break!
With gratitude,
Jilian & Amanda
