News from the Upper School
Congratulations, Upper School! We have all made it to the end of the first semester. Of course, this week was 100% focused on exams. We value preparing for midterm exams as we, Upper School faculty, want to prepare our students the best we can for what will be expected of them once they leave SDS and embark on their college journey.
Seventy-five of our Upper School students are members of Interact Club under the leadership of faculty advisor Jolie Joseph. Interact has had a busy semester helping those in our greater Spartanburg and SDS communities. Please see what they were up to this semester here.
Students and faculty have been voting for their favorite gingerbread houses this week. There are some creative houses (or non-house designs) this year.
We will keep this brief as we are all anxious to begin our well-earned 2-week break.
A few important notes for the upcoming weeks:
- Report cards for Quarter 2/Semester 1 will go live on RenWeb at 5:00 pm on Friday, December 27.
- Students return to school on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 8:30 am. We will begin with A-block that day.
- Students taking a semester course that begins in January should show on their schedule for Quarter 3. If you have any questions about that, please let us know.
- Dr. Duncan will begin SAT Prep on Sunday, January 12, from 1:00 - 3:00 pm in the Seminar Room. He will send more information about that soon.
Thank you all for your support and entrusting us to educate your students this year. We are eternally grateful to all of you. We wish you the happiest holiday season and will see you in 2025!
Warm wishes,
Amanda and Jillian
