Week of March 11

Today closes week one of quarter four. Report cards will be visible in FACTS by 5:00 today. Students and parents are welcome to contact the appropriate teacher(s) for feedback or to ask performance-related questions.

Upper School students in grades 9-11 will soon begin the course selection process. Once we start the process, students will receive information about the available courses for the 2024-2025 school year. Through conversations with advisors, teachers, and family, students should consider courses of interest. It is a healthy exercise for students to list their potential courses and commitments outside of class (i.e. athletics, clubs, spiritual life, personal wellness, social obligations, etc.). Considering individual courses in a vacuum is less productive than a more holistic approach. Many students could succeed in a single AP course; however, a collection of classes (and activities) tends to create a more challenging scenario. Balancing rigor with passion and interest is important for overall well-being. College Counselors are the perfect go-to for guidance in this area and are eager to help your students make informed, healthy decisions throughout the process. Students will obtain signatures from the appropriate teachers and parents before entering potential courses into RenWeb. We will keep you informed as we navigate this process.

Below, (1)Middle and Upper School students participated in the Jazz Festival at Newberry College last weekend. As always, they delivered stellar performances and walked away with notable recognition. (2) Katherine Bauer donned her space suit to deliver the Space Camp Special Studies presentation in assembly.

Lastly, the week ahead brings several spring athletic events, an early dismissal on Thursday, and Lower and Middle School conferences on Friday. Please note that while LS and MS students do not have class on Friday, Upper School is in session, and classes will proceed as normal. Monday is an E day. The schedule for Thursday (an A day) is below.

Enjoy the weekend!
