Week of March 4

Happy Friday! We are pleased to report that Special Studies 2024 is in the books. All groups have returned safely, and I'm guessing many students and teachers are taking advantage of the cold, rainy weather to slow down and enjoy being at home with family. The grey skies beg for an evening of rest after a busy week filled with learning, relationship-building, exploration, and fun.

Each year, Special Studies allows students to create memories that will last a lifetime. The tradition is one of the most loved components of the Upper School experience, with many benefits. Having immersive experiences beyond the classroom can powerfully affect student learning. Upper Schoolers had the chance this week to interact with the world in ways that helped them better grasp topics, built cultural understanding, lent them hands-on experiences to issues of interest, and allowed them to build new relationships and strengthen old ones. The pictures below provide a glimpse into the week. Full albums will be available through Vidigami as students and teachers load their images. Students will present their experiences from Special Studies Week to their Upper School peers during upcoming morning assemblies.

Today marks the end of Q3, and report cards will be visible in Renweb on Friday, March 8, by 5 pm. Monday is an A Day and brings a full week back in the classroom. In the coming weeks, we will engage the course selection process for the 2024-2025 school year. More to come on that front very soon. I will return to the key dates list next week. For now, enjoy the smattering of images from the week. I know I speak for the faculty when I say how grateful we are to be able to know and teach your kids. Weeks like the one we've just experienced nail home how lucky we are to work with such kind, intelligent, curious young people. Thank you.
