Dear Upper School Parents & Students, 

It seems that spring has sprung in the Upper School! The weather has been glorious the past few days–please enjoy some photos of Upper Schoolers relishing in the outdoors…

Upper School students were hard at work this week as we worked to wrap up Quarter 3. Be on the lookout for grades to be released next Tuesday afternoon. It’s hard to believe that the year is already ¾ of the way over–in fact, some Seniors informed me this morning that graduation is only 77 days away! Time is flying!

A big thank you to Ms. Mitchell for arranging a guest performance by Mike Wiley this past Wednesday in the Barnet Theatre. Mr. Wiley performed Changing Same, a one-man show that portrayed the story of Booker T. Spicely. Wiley brought to life a host of characters to examine the events of the day that Spicely was murdered and the tense days that followed in a town known then and today for its progressive views, visionary Black entrepreneurs, tobacco industry magnates, and institutes of higher learning. The show was powerful, and we are all grateful for the opportunity to experience Mr. Wiley’s performance through the Day School’s commitment to the Arts.
