Griffin Fund

The Griffin Fund is Spartanburg Day School's most important source of revenue other than student tuition and contributes to every part of the school’s operation. It allows us to keep our classes small, enables flexibility in programming, provides our students with state-of-the-art technology and offers financial aid for deserving students. In brief, these funds are used to run the school.

Planned Giving

Planned giving is a long term approach. Planned gifts range from life-income gifts to bequests to creative arrangements using retirement-plan benefits.

Some donors choose to make an outright gift of assets such as stocks, bonds, or property. Making a planned gift may allow you to give more than you ever thought possible and, at the same time, benefit from tax advantages or income for a term of years.

If you decide to support Spartanburg Day School through planned giving, you will become a member of the Captain Pennell Society.

Endowment

Established through the generosity and foresight of the school’s founders, the endowment is comprised of endowed funds and endowed scholarships. These are supported by trustees, alumni, parents, faculty and friends of the Spartanburg Day School.

These gifts not only support current programs, they fund the growth of the school and help provide excellence in education for future generations.

Capital Gifts

Capital gifts support both endowment and capital projects. While endowment gifts secure the future of the school, capital improvement gifts enable us to either renovate our existing spaces or build new facilities.

Buy a Brick

Commemorate your family's Spartanburg Day School experience by creating a personalized brick to be placed in the Dr. Wallace Taylor Courtyard. This courtyard, located in between Presnell and the Milliken Lobby, is a popular studying spot for both middle and upper schoolers alike.

All bricks are 4 x 8 in size and the cost is $100. You may choose a single name, a family name or an honorary or memorial name.
