At Camp Griffin, we are committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment where every camper can thrive. To maintain this standard, we have established clear behavioral expectations and a structured disciplinary process.
Behavioral Expectations
Campers are expected to:
- Treat fellow campers and staff with kindness and respect.
- Follow all camp rules and staff instructions promptly.
- Engage positively in camp activities and respect the camp environment.
- Refrain from any form of bullying, harassment, or disruptive behavior.
Disciplinary Process
When a camper's behavior does not align with our expectations, the following steps will be taken:
- Verbal Warning: The camper will receive a clear explanation of the inappropriate behavior and guidance on expected conduct.
- Time-Out or Reflection Period: If the behavior persists, the camper may be removed from the activity for a short period to reflect on their actions.
- Parent/Guardian Notification: Continued behavioral issues will result in communication with the camper's parent or guardian to discuss the behavior and collaborate on strategies for improvement.
- Behavioral Agreement: In cases of repeated misconduct, a formal agreement outlining behavior expectations and consequences will be established between the camper, parents/guardians, and camp administration.
- Suspension or Dismissal: If the camper's behavior does not improve or poses a safety risk, they may be suspended or dismissed from camp. In such cases, refunds will be provided.
Immediate Dismissal
Certain behaviors may result in immediate dismissal from Camp Griffin, including but not limited to:
- Physical aggression or violence towards others.
- Possession of weapons or dangerous items.
- Use or possession of illegal substances.
- Repeated bullying or harassment.
