Camp Griffin shares the spirit of Spartanburg Day School with the greater Upstate community through immersive, hands-on experiences that bring Learning Lived to life. In a community of trust led by SDS instructors and coaches, campers explore, create and expand their thinking as they develop the curiosity, confidence and skills that prepare them for a life well lived.
A Family Focused Summer Camp
Camp Griffin offers engaging and flexible programs designed to bring joy to campers of all ages! Our family-focused approach provides the convenience and options that make summer stress-free. With a single drop-off and pick-up location, lunch and snacks included, and affordable pricing, Camp Griffin makes summer easy for families.
At Camp Griffin, we understand that summer success comes from teamwork between families and the camp. That’s why we offer features that support busy parents and happy campers. Enjoy simple, online registration and payment options with expanded payment plans, extended day care for added flexibility, and nine weeks of exciting programming tailored to fit every camper’s interests. Whether your child is an adventurer, artist, athlete, or scientist, Camp Griffin has something special for everyone!
Lunch & Snack Provided
At Camp Griffin, our on-site food service provider, Griffins Table, prepares nutritious and delicious lunches for all campers. Our kitchen is 100% nut-free and thoughtfully accommodates dietary restrictions. Weekly menus can be viewed anytime on the Camp Griffin App.
Lunch Selections
Campers in grades K and up make their selections in the lunch line each day, choosing from hot entrées and sides, a full salad and sandwich bar and fresh-cut fruit options. All preschool campers are served the same lunch choice each day, with meals plated and delivered directly to their classrooms.
Snacks & Lunch Bunch
All campers receive one morning snack and one afternoon snack and those enrolled in Stay & Play enjoy a third late-afternoon snack. Families of half-day campers can also choose the Half-Day with Lunch Bunch option, which includes lunch and pickup at 1:00 PM. All campers are served the same
Before & After Camp Hours at Camp Griffin
At Camp Griffin, we understand the importance of flexibility for busy families. That’s why we offer convenient extended care options to make your summer stress-free.
Official Camp Hours
- Half-Day Camps: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Full-Day Camps: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Stay & Play: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Please plan to have your camper arrive by 8:50 AM each morning to ensure they are ready for the day’s activities.
Early Drop-Off
Early Drop-Off is available beginning at 7:45 AM and is included in camp tuition for all camps. Campers can enjoy group activities like morning yoga, board games and coordinated athletic games before their camp day begins.
Stay & Play Extended Care
Stay & Play provides a fun, safe environment for campers to unwind and continue the Camp Griffin experience after regular camp hours. From 4:00 to 5:30 PM, campers enjoy outdoor play and a moment of relaxation with friends while families benefit from flexible pickup times. Stay & Play is already included in camp tuition (see above) there are no additional fees required.

Our summer team is made up of Spartanburg Day School faculty, Griffin Athletics coaches, and talented local college and high school students. Each staff member is selected for their skills, passions, experience, strength of character, and their commitment to embodying the Camp Griffin mission.
To ensure the highest level of safety and professionalism, all staff members complete thorough background checks and screenings. Every team member participates in both pre-camp video training and in-person sessions to prepare for a successful summer. Throughout the season, staff work closely with the administrative team, engaging in ongoing professional development to continually enhance their skills. At Camp Griffin, our exceptional staff ensures a safe, enriching, and unforgettable experience for every camper!

At Camp Griffin, we value our camp families and are excited to offer a variety of discounts to make summer even sweeter! Enrolled Spartanburg Day School families receive exclusive savings on camp tuition. Returning campers are rewarded with discounts for coming back to join the fun. We’re committed to providing an exceptional camp experience while offering flexible options that work for your family’s budget!
